Built on Curiosity. Driven by Purpose.
The David Glen O'Connor Foundation was founded to honor a young inventor's spirit and ensure that curiosity, courage, and creativity are never limited by circumstance.
Opening Doors for the Next Generation of Innovators
We believe every curious mind deserves the opportunity to explore, create, and contribute. The David Glen O'Connor Foundation provides grants, scholarships, mentorship, and community programs to students and young innovators who have the drive but not always the resources to pursue their ideas.
To honor David's legacy by investing in the curiosity, courage, and creativity of the next generation — ensuring that no great idea goes unexplored for lack of opportunity.
A Mother's Love, A Son's Legacy
The David Glen O'Connor Foundation was established by Nancy Mobley in memory of her son, David Glen O'Connor — a natural inventor, curious thinker, and young man who saw possibility where others saw limits.
David passed away before the world had a chance to see what he would build next. But his mother, Nancy, refused to let his spirit fade. She founded the foundation to carry forward everything David embodied: the belief that curiosity is a gift, that courage opens doors, and that every young person with a big idea deserves a chance to pursue it.
What began as a personal act of love has grown into a living institution — one that funds scholarships, awards innovation grants, runs community workshops, and connects young people with mentors who believe in them.
Our Core Values
Curiosity
We celebrate the questions that drive discovery and fund the minds that refuse to stop asking them.
Courage
We support bold ideas and the young people brave enough to pursue them, even without a roadmap.
Opportunity
We believe access to resources should never be the barrier between a great idea and its realization.
Community
We build networks of mentors, educators, and supporters who invest in the next generation together.
Legacy
Everything we do is in service of a future shaped by the curious, courageous minds we help today.
Nancy Mobley
Founder & Executive Director
Nancy Mobley has spent her life in service to others. A devoted mother, community leader, and advocate for education, Nancy channeled her grief into purpose when she lost her son David.
Her vision for the foundation has always been clear: create the kind of support system that David would have wanted for others — one that sees potential in every curious young person and gives them the tools to act on it.
Under Nancy's leadership, the foundation has grown from a personal tribute into a recognized nonprofit serving students and communities across the region.
David didn't just dream — he built. This foundation is our way of making sure others get that same chance.
